In order to attract our audience, we used all the techniques available to us in terms of genre, narrative and editing styles. By drawing on our audience's media preferences we were able to create a sequence which attracts our audience of males between the ages of 16-24, and our audience feedback defines our success.
Genre:
I believe our genre was chosen very carefully and most definitely has special interest to our target audience.
As shown by the above chart, action adventure is very popular with male audiences, with sci-fi also representing a significant amount of interest. Therefore we decided going for an Action adventure/Sci-fi hybrid with elements of thriller would attract a majority of the potential target audience, while still providing interest to our secondary audiences, Females 16-24 and Males 25-34.
By conforming to the expectation of the genre with action from the start and a prominent sci-fi theme embedded from the opening i believe we would successfully pique our audience's interest through our use of genre and genre conventions
Narrative:

Use of narrative enigma and plot twists would be a key way to interest our audience, and we accomplished this through use of voyeuristic shots combined with enigmatic music and particular use of setting. In our opening sequence we hint to the presence of a third party, yet the appearance of our protagonist is still unexpected and his courage and ruthlessness would no doubt be admired by our core audience, which would cause them to resonate with our protagonist making our media product more effective
Action Conventions:

To address our sci-fi fans, we added many special effects in order to tap into their interest of new technology and exploration of new fictional ideas around this stolen government project. The audience is attracted as they do not know the full extent of the power the project grants the user, and their personal interest into the matter makes our sequence effective.
Audience Feedback:
As we cam see from these figures, our sense of character identity did not resonate well with the audience, as many could not identify the protagonist. This being said though, our film title, target audience and genres proved prominent, but our production type was seen as vague.
